Little Beats inclusive music classes (0–4 years)

Fun, interactive and inclusive music classes for young children

Little Beats is a fully inclusive music class for children in early years’ settings.

Designed to develop skills set out in the seven areas of learning for Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), the classes hold the attention of young children, supporting co-ordination, listening skills, responding to instruction and sharing.

Little Beats music classes for young children support the development of a wide range of skills. Our kids’ classes are run in the following settings:

Charity-run Preschools
Private Day Nurseries
School-based Nurseries

Currently music classes run by Little Beats support more than 300 early years aged children a week across 12 preschool settings in Cheshire.

The length of the session depends on what works best in your particular setting; according to how many children are in the class and their ages and needs. The cost of Little Beats reflects both the time and numbers involved.

Baby in a Little Beats session

Music Classes for Babies

Little Beats’ music classes for babies are fast-paced in order to hold the attention and interest of babies. We learn to play simple instruments and to move to music.

Music classes for babies introduce them to the routine of a class and use both familiar music and new songs. Babies are taught when to play and when to stop.

Music Classes for Toddlers

Little Beats’ classes for toddlers see the children learning to use a range of equipment and instruments, including puppets, scarves, ribbons, claves and drums.

The children develop a good listening ear and respond to signals in the music to perform certain actions or play instruments at the correct time and speed.

We learn about the importance of waiting and sharing within the class too, and begin to develop our singing voices and learn about beating in time.

Music Classes for Pre-Schoolers

Little Beats’ preschool sessions develop the learning as we increase our repertoire of songs with new  instruments that challenge the children with hand/eye coordination. The children are given more instruction and direction on how to play and move to the music.

We develop our singing voices further and the children are introduced to rhythms and how to work with syllables. Little Beats’ preschool classes also introduce signing and body percussion.

Music Classes for SEND and EAL

Research shows that music has the power to speed up brain development for young learners. And exposing children to musical experiences increases their learning capacity.

Little Beats’ sessions are fully inclusive for all children.

The feedback received in relation to children
with special educational needs has been fantastic.
After just a few weeks the impact can be seen, with nearly 95% of SEND children actively engaging
with sessions and demonstrating improved focus and attention in particular. Little Beats works with
your setting’s SENDCo to plot this progress over time.

What people say about Live The Beat

“Amanda first approached us to do one of her first taster sessions within our setting and, five years on, she continues to support our children. We work closely with Amanda to devise the best strategy for the session and for the children.

Each week is always different bringing in new resources, and the children take part in dancing and playing musical instruments. Classes always cover all seven areas of
EYFS from Communication & Language to Mathematics and Understanding of the World. The children cannot wait for her to arrive and of course her puppet Ricky. We would highly recommend her sessions."
